The Examined Life Online Philosophy Journal (www.examinedlifejournal.com) first appeared online in the spring of 2000 (editor's note: It was incorrectly stated 1990 in the magazine). From its humble beginnings as an online journal and discussion forum, it has grown into an important internet philosophy resource.

Its main focus remains the journal, which is published four times a year, featuring articles, book reviews and editorial comment, aimed at professional, amateur and student philosophers alike. It also actively encouragesf quality submissions from these groups of people and represents an ideal forum in which to get work published for the first time.

In addition to the journal, the web site features discussion forums, a chat room, a book club for discussion of classic philosophical texts, a live lecture hall where special online events take place, and interdisciplinary portal section, free email, and much more.
