We are pleased to announce that The Examined Life now offers its readers FREE e-mail!

Now, many of you might be wondering, "Why do I need another e-mail address?". There are a few reasons. The e-mail service which The Examined Life is offering is a web based account. This in and of itself gives you a number of advantages.

  • You do not have to wait for a large program such as Microsoft Outlook to load.
  • Since the e-mail is stored on a remote computer, you are FAR less likely to be afflicted with viruses.
  • The e-mail does not take up space on your computer.
  • You can access your mail from any computer anywhere which is connected to the internet.

Now, if those reasons alone do not convince you that web-based e-mail is a good idea, let me give you some more reasons why you should elect to have The Examined Life's FREE E-mail powered by everyone.net.

  • The Examined Life FREE E-mail has one of the largest message storage capacities of any free web-based e-mail service. It will allow you to store upto 6 MB of messages (compare this to 4 MB at most other providers).
  • The E-mail is highly customizable.
a)You can be notified of your new messages at any account of your choosing.

b) You can have as your reply address any account of your choosing.

c) You can check your pop3 e-mail accounts from The Examined Life's FREE e-mail.

d) You can have as your e-mail address any name of your choosing (the names are not picked over as they are with many other free accounts), and your new e-mail address will look like this:

yourname@theexaminedlife.every1.net

  • The Examined Life's FREE E-mail also provides filters which protect you from SPAM and also allow you to choose to which folder you would like new messages to go (for instance, if you you wanted the e-mail from your friends to go to one folder on arrival, and your e-mail from your business associates to go to another, you can customize the filters to do just that!)

I hope that the above has given you good reason to consider opening a FREE E-Mail account with The Examined Life. The questions to open an account are fairly standard, and if you do not want to be bothered with promotions then be sure to click "no" at the appropriate time.

Now, you may be asking yourself why it is that The Examined Life is offering this to you? We only want the journal to be more readily accessible and to build a sense of community. You will see ads on the FREE E-Mail, but The Examined Life does not receive anything from those ads; they are placed there by the service provider and NOT The Examined Life. The ads are the way which the service provider provides this service free to The Examined Life so that we may offer it to you. If you are interested in any given ad, then by all means click it; but, if you are not, then it does not effect The Examined Life nor your service one bit.

We hope that you will take advantage of this FREE service. We also hope that it will serve to make your visits to the journal all the more pleasurable. Of course, we invite your questions or comments.

So, why not sign up for your FREE E-Mail account from The Examined Life now?

Thank you for your time and your interest in
