[Photo - Paul Rezendes at home with his inspirations for the dialogue "Anton"] Paul Rezendes is a lawyer by profession, and a husband, father, philosopher and musician by choice. He received his B.A. in philosophy in 1978 from what is now U. Mass., Dartmouth , and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law of 1981. His interests are primarily in epistemology and metaphysics, but he takes a pragmatic view of both, which means that ethical concerns are never far in the background. His favorite philosophical author is Plato, but his favorite philosopher is Socrates. He is continuing his education in philosophy informally by collecting "key" texts that, from time to time, he actually reads. His training and experience in law and legal process have been an extension of his study of philosophy, especially epistemology, and especially because the distinction between mere rhetoric and proper reasoning are reflected in the rules of trial proof and evidence, and the rules concerning expert testimony. Paul is now old enough that playing Led Zeppelin is no longer age appropriate, so he calls himself a blues guitarist. |
